Hello everyone! My name is Candace and I am a timeless Georgia wedding photographer who had the privilege of photographing this wedding in the summer of 2023. Betsy and Clark were married at Aberdeen Wedding Venue, located in Stathem Georgia. Like most summer days in Georgia, it was hot! Nonetheless, it was a beautiful day and we were all so excited to get Betsy and Clark married! Madelyn Tenney Events were the planners throughout the day and did a wonderful job coordinating it all!

Betsy and her girls started the day getting ready in the venue’s stunning bridal suite. We did some group photos and then some individual bridal photos. We had to take advantage of their gorgeous, dreamy bathtub! The vibrant colors of the day were undeniably some of the most gorgeous I have had the opptunity to photograph. The florals were so bright and unlike any other.
Betsy had her mom help her into her gown before doing her first look with her father. It was a beautiful moment between mom and daughter and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.
Once Betsy was ready I got her dad set at the bottom of the staircase. The staircase at Aberdeen Wedding Venue made for a perfect spot for Betsy and her dad to have their first look. The two of them were able to have some time together before we moved on to the wedding party photos.
Because Betsy and Clark did not want to see each other before the ceremony we took all the photos we could with them apart before the first look coming down the aisle. The gowns Betsy planned for her bridesmaids were timeless and beautiful. Light blue has to be one of my favorite wedding colors because it fits so well into my style as a timeless wedding photographer.
We did the bridesmaid’s photos on the venue’s front porch so that we could get out of the sun and stay as cool as possible.
Aberdeen has a beautiful lake on its property right in front of where the grooms got ready and the guys were even allowed to fish that morning. This spot was a great area for taking the groomsmen’s photos. They had a great time in this spot and got a little goofy in the end!
In between the wedding party photos and the ceremony I like to take this time to go around the venue and make sure to finish getting all the detail photos before guests arrive. The tables were beautiful and decorations were provided by Epting Events, Catering and Design and all the florals were provided by Chappell Designs, LLC. Both located in the Athens area.
Guests arrived as the wedding party got lined up and ready to walk down the aisle. The groom took his place with the officiant at the front. As soon as Clark saw his bride he was overwhelmed with emotions. It was very heartfelt.
After the ceremony finished we went around the venue’s stunning property to take bride and groom portraits of Betsy and Clark before we joined everyone at the Reception.
The first dance between Betsy and Clark was one of my absolute favorites! You can tell Betsy was a former dancer by the way she showed off her moves. They were having so much fun and totally in their own world.
Clark was so funny and had a great bond with his mom that enjoyed throughout the day! Next was the father daughter dance with Betsy and her dad.
Betsy’s family has a tradition where they all drink the same champagne at their weddings. All of her siblings drank this champagne at their weddings so naturally Betsy had to do the same.
The remainder of the night was spent dancing, drinking, and having fun! Betsy even got behind the DJ booth and had fun with the mix. The DJ at this wedding was Athens DJ Service who did a great job.
Betsy and Clark chose to include confetti in their formal exit right before hopping on the trolley and heading to their hotel for the night.
Betsy and Clark had a dream wedding for a timeless wedding photographer life myself. It was a gorgeous day with the most perfect weather at the most charming venue. It was such a pleasure to have the opportunity to photograph their day and I wish them both a lifetime of happiness as husband and wife.
